     The Rotary Club of San Jose Samarica was a club borne-out from the terminated Rotary Club of Samarica San Jose.

     The Rotary Club of Samarica San Jose was chartered on February 20, 2009 with Past President Joaquin “Jake” Castronuevo of the Rotary Club of San Jose as its Charter President and with District Governor Josie Ang as the District Governor. The club Presidents that also served the club were as follows: Past President Bernardo Pangilinan for Rotary Year 2009-2010 and Past President Raymundo Sebastian for Rotary Year 2010-2011 and supposedly Atty. Alfred Castillo for Rotary Year 2011-2012.

     On April 15, 2013, under the leadership of District Governor Ismael Mercado, the Rotary Club of San Jose Samarica was chartered with Dr. Lope C. Asilo becoming its Charter President. This club being a multiple locality club as denoted by the word “Samarica” served the towns of Magsaysay, San Jose, Rizal and Calintaan, all of Occidental Mindoro. Due to the shortness of time to served, Dr. Asilo extend his term up to Rotary Year 2013-2014.

     Although, the Rotary Club of San Jose Samarica was the youngest club in Occidental Mindoro and one of the youngest in District 3810, it was able to show his mettle of what is really “Service Above Self” is all about by rendering activities expected of a Rotarians and which encompasses the different Avenues of Service.

     For Rotary Year 2014-2015, under the leadership of District Governor Edmond Aguilar and Club President Marilyn Labrador, the Rotary Club of San Jose Samarica will continue to be a model of good public and humanitarian service organization to the people whom it ought to serve, the Rotary way.
