Vocational Service Awardee Rtn. Letty Espiritu

February 28, 2009, SMX Convention Center - The Rotary Club of San Jose Tamaraw is proud to have in its roster a Vocational Service Awardee in the person of Rtn. Letty Espiritu.

Rtn. Leticia "Letty"  Espiritu, whose Rotary classification is Educatiion, is a College professor of Occidental Mindoro National College (OMNC).  She was instrumental in launching the first-ever Advanced Learning System (ALS) given for free to the selected inmates of the Provincial Jail in Magbay, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.  The Literacy Program, which started last August 2008, was voluntarily conducted by the members of the Teachers Education Department of OMNC to provide a special learning program for the Provincial Jail inmates to advance literacy and to promote good conduct and behavior. Rtn. Letty was also a prime mover in environment protection as she is the Overall Coordinator of Mindoro Occidental Volunteers for Environment (MOVE).

RCSJ Tamaraw supported and instituted projects on literacy and environment protection and conservation and Rtn. Letty was an active participant in such projects.

The Vocational Service Award was presented to Rtn. Letty Espiritu during DISCON 2009 last February 28, 2009 by District Gov. Josie Ang.
