DG Josie Ang Welcomes GSE Inbound Team

     

February 16, 2009, Manila, Philippines - Rotary International District 3810 Governor Josie Ang welcomed the Group Study Exchange Inbound Team from San Francisco, U.S.A. RI District 5170 with a Welcome Dinner  hosted by the JEPROCS (Pasay Clubs) at the Manila Pavilion. The GSE Inbound Team led by Sheila Barry with team members Heather Bourbeau, Kelly Homan, Caryn Kralovansky, Phillip Lowenthal and Hillary Steinmetz will stay with Rotarian Families for a month.

Welcoming the team are SDG Liza Hizon as the overall District GSE chair , PP Lito Pua - subcommittee Chair for Inbound GSE, PP Bing Nazareno - Pasay Coordinator, PP Jonathan Teng - Manila Coordinator and PP Marni Sy - Cavite Coordinator.

The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.

 

The group is scheduled to visit: Philippine Senate, Mall of Asia, U.S. Embassy, Metropolitan Museum, Ayala Museum, ABS-CBN TV Station, Club Project Visit at Payatas, Quezon City, Manila Film Center, Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, Smokey Mountain, Del Pan Slum Area, RSSTHS, Manila Cathedral, Philippine National Red Cross, Quiapo, Philippine Orthopedic Hospital, Fabella Hospital, Women's Correctional, Ospital ng Maynila, WOW Philippines, Pagsanjan, Laguna, DWDD Radio Veritas, Camp Aguinaldo, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Chinese Anti-Japanese Guerilla War Memorial Hall, Chinese Cemetery, La Loma, Quezon City - Lechon Capital of the country, Rosario Reyes Health Museum, Fort Santiago, Luneta, Caisa, Chinatown with Kalesa ride, Sta.
