Rotaract club members are proven leaders in their communities. For clubs to thrive and be effective, it is essential to further develop these leadership skills and share successes with one another. Generally, two types of district meetings are held during a Rotary year: a meeting to train new club officers and other district leaders called the District Assembly, and a meeting open to all Rotaractors to promote Fellowship, the district conference. This Rotary Year, we will revive the District Rotaract Awards & Handover Ceremonies to recognize the achievements of every Rotaract clubs and individuals who have worked and rendered service unselfishly to their respective communities and to the world and to induct the new set of officers of the Rotaract District Committee and every Rotaract clubs in the district.

District Leadership Training Meeting

The Rotaract district leadership training meetings educate incoming Rotaract club officers about their responsibilities and motivate them for club leadership. This is the opportunity to address club emphases and goals. Rotaract district leadership training meetings will be held on July 23, 2005, anticipating that all RI registered Rotaract Clubs have completed their lineup before this date. The assembly will include:

Program

This year’s district leadership training meeting would contain a mix of general sessions and small group discussions designed to share information and build skills while developing a rapport among the Rotaract club leadership, the sponsoring Rotary club, and district leadership.

Individual sessions are planned to discuss the specific roles of various club officers. The general sessions will address Rotaract activities at the district level, service projects, and membership development and retention. The training program’s success relies on the participation from as many club leaders as possible. To ensure attendance:

Expenses

Sponsoring Rotary clubs should pay for district-level leadership training of incoming Rotaract club officers, directors, and committee chairs. To cover the expenses, each sponsoring Rotary Club will have to pay a minimum of P2,400.00 to cover the 8 club officers of each sponsored Rotaract club. Additional participants will be charged P300.00 each. The fee includes the kits, meals and other materials needed.

Hosting

To allow other Rotary clubs in hosting of District activities, this year’s District Rotaract Assembly will invite other Rotary clubs to co-host or participate as an observer for this event. As co-host, the participating Rotary club will be trained or assist in conducting the event so that next year, they will then be given the right or priority to host the same event. The participating club with the observer status will then be promoted as the co-host and this year’s host will act as the adviser to assure the success of conducting that event.
