February 27, 2025 | Club Balí Isabel, Talisay, Batangas
Against the picturesque backdrop of Taal Lake and the serene charm of Talisay, Batangas, the leadership of Rotary International District 3810 gathered for a day of team spirit, personal connection, and purpose-driven camaraderie during the much-anticipated ManCom Team Building Event held on February 27, 2025, at the scenic Club Balí Isabel.
Convened under the dynamic guidance of District Governor-Elect Mary Mei V. Rodrigo, the event brought together the full Management Committee — comprising Presidents-Elect, Assistant Governors, District Officers, and key leaders from the areas of Manila, Pasay, Cavite, and Occidental Mindoro. It was an immersive experience designed not just to bond but to build — a foundation of trust, synergy, and collective alignment ahead of Rotary Year 2025–2026.
Arriving early to the resort grounds, participants were welcomed with morning refreshments and a breathtaking view of Taal Volcano that set the tone for a day of reflection and revitalization. DGE Mary Mei formally opened the event with a heartfelt message that underscored the importance of unity and servant leadership. “We are each other’s greatest resource,” she shared. “Before we lead others, we must first know, trust, and empower one another. That begins today.”
From the start, the activities were carefully curated to encourage collaboration, break down barriers, and foster communication. Icebreaker challenges warmed up the group, followed by competitive yet fun-filled team exercises that required strategy, agility, and above all, cooperation. Whether it was navigating a human obstacle course, solving timed puzzles, or participating in blindfolded trust walks, each challenge revealed valuable lessons about leadership, listening, and letting go of individual ego for collective gain.
One of the standout highlights was the “Rotary Relay,” an original team game that combined Rotary-themed trivia, service-based role plays, and physical challenges — all reflecting the Four-Way Test and Rotary values. The participants cheered one another with gusto, regardless of teams, exemplifying the spirit of “Service Above Self.”
After a hearty buffet lunch that celebrated Batangueño cuisine, the afternoon slowed down into more reflective territory. Participants were invited into breakout groups for “vision circles” where they openly shared personal leadership journeys, expectations for the year ahead, and how they intended to leave a mark of impact in their respective communities and club roles.
Adding depth to the day was a surprise session called “Letters to My Future Self” — where each participant wrote a private letter to be sealed and returned to them at the end of their term in 2026. The exercise reminded everyone that leadership is not only about achieving goals, but also about growth, self-awareness, and internal transformation.
As the sun began to dip over the horizon, the team gathered for a sunset fellowship on the lakeside deck, sharing laughter, photo ops, and stories over coffee and snacks. It was a moment of stillness and unity, a quiet reminder of why they all serve: to uplift lives, to empower communities, and to journey together as Rotarians.
In her closing message, DGE Mary Mei thanked the group for their openness, energy, and commitment. “We are no longer strangers or titles — we are one team. We are now bound not just by Rotary, but by shared experience and mutual trust. And with that, we are unstoppable.”
The 2025 District 3810 ManCom Team Building at Club Balí Isabel wasn’t just an event. It was a turning point — a vibrant demonstration of what is possible when Rotary leaders set aside formalities, roll up their sleeves, and embrace the humanity behind the mission. With the bonds forged that day, District 3810 stands stronger, closer, and ever more ready to serve.
